Privacy Policy for SyncHUB Mobile Application

This Privacy Policy explains how HATOR Gaming B.V. (“HATOR”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the SyncHUB mobile application (“SyncHUB” or the “App”).

This Privacy Policy applies specifically to the SyncHUB mobile application available through Google Play and the Apple App Store. It does not replace or limit the general privacy policy applicable to the HATOR website or online store.

2. Purpose of the App

SyncHUB is designed to help users connect, configure, and manage compatible HATOR devices, such as gaming headsets, keyboards, mice, and other supported products.

Depending on the connected device and supported features, the App may allow users to:

  • connect compatible HATOR devices;
  • view device status;
  • adjust device settings;
  • configure sound, lighting, performance, or control options;
  • manage device profiles;
  • update or support device-related functionality where available.

3. Information we collect or process

SyncHUB is designed to operate primarily as a device configuration and management tool.

The App does not require users to create an account and does not ask users to provide personal information such as name, email address, phone number, postal address, payment information, or login credentials.

Depending on the device model, operating system, app version, and permissions granted by the user, the App may access or process the following technical information:

  • information about compatible HATOR devices detected or connected to the App;
  • device model, connection status, battery level, firmware version, or similar technical device information;
  • user-selected settings, such as sound settings, equalizer settings, lighting settings, button assignments, device profiles, or performance settings;
  • Bluetooth or nearby-device connection information required to detect and connect compatible HATOR devices;
  • technical information required for the App to function on Android or iOS.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, this information is used to provide the App’s functionality and is not used to directly identify you. 

4. App permissions

To provide its functionality, SyncHUB may request certain permissions on your mobile device.

Depending on your operating system and device version, these permissions may include:

Bluetooth / Nearby Devices

The App may request Bluetooth or nearby-device permissions to detect, connect to, and communicate with compatible HATOR devices.

Location-related permissions on Android

On some Android versions, Bluetooth scanning may be technically linked to location-related permissions. SyncHUB does not use these permissions to determine your physical location or track your movements.

Network access

The App may use internet access to support app functionality, retrieve device-related resources, support updates, or communicate with app distribution platforms.

Notifications

If supported and enabled, the App may request permission to send notifications related to device status, connection status, updates, or similar service messages.

You can manage or revoke app permissions at any time through your device settings. Some features may not work properly if required permissions are disabled.

5. Purposes and legal basis for processing

Where the processing of personal data is subject to the GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:

Performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps

We may process technical and device-related information where this is necessary to provide the App’s core functionality, including connecting compatible HATOR devices, applying user-selected settings, displaying device status, and enabling supported product features.

Legitimate interests

We may process limited technical information where necessary for our legitimate interests, including maintaining the security, stability, compatibility, and proper operation of the App and compatible HATOR devices.

Consent

Where required by applicable law or by the operating system, we rely on your consent for certain permissions or functions, such as Bluetooth access, nearby-device access, notifications, or other permission-based features. You may withdraw or manage such consent through your device settings.

Legal obligations

We may process information where necessary to comply with applicable legal, regulatory, platform, or security requirements.

6. How we use information

SyncHUB uses technical information and device-related data for purposes related to the operation of the App, including:

  • detecting and connecting compatible HATOR devices;
  • applying user-selected device settings;
  • displaying device status and configuration options;
  • saving or restoring device profiles;
  • supporting firmware or feature-related functionality where available;
  • improving stability, compatibility, and user experience;
  • maintaining security and preventing misuse;
  • complying with applicable legal, platform, or security requirements.

7. Data sharing

SyncHUB does not sell user data.

SyncHUB does not share personal data with third parties for advertising or tracking purposes.

If the App uses third-party services, platform services, analytics, crash reporting, or app distribution services, such services may process limited technical information according to their own terms and privacy practices. This may include services provided by Google, Apple, or other platform providers necessary for distributing, maintaining, securing, or improving the App.

At the date of this Privacy Policy, SyncHUB does not use third-party advertising SDKs or tracking SDKs for advertising purposes.

8. Data storage and retention

Settings and device-related configuration data may be stored locally on your mobile device or on the connected HATOR device, depending on the product and feature.

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the App’s functionality, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, or enforce applicable terms.

If data is stored locally on your device, you may delete it by clearing the App data or uninstalling the App, subject to your device’s operating system settings.

9. International transfers

SyncHUB may be available to users in different countries through Google Play and the Apple App Store.

Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we will take appropriate safeguards where required by applicable data protection law. Such safeguards may include adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

10. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed through the App.

However, no mobile application, wireless connection, internet connection, or electronic transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

11. Children’s privacy

SyncHUB is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at support@hator.com, and we will take appropriate steps to delete such information where required by applicable law.

12. Your rights

Depending on your location, including if you are located in the European Economic Area, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data, including the right to:

  • request access to your personal data;
  • request correction of inaccurate personal data;
  • request deletion of your personal data;
  • request restriction of processing;
  • object to certain processing based on legitimate interests;
  • request data portability where applicable;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;

Because SyncHUB does not require user accounts and is designed to avoid collecting directly identifiable personal information, we may need additional information from you to verify and process certain requests.

13. Data Protection Officer and EU representative

HATOR Gaming B.V. is established in the Netherlands.

If a Data Protection Officer is appointed or if an EU data protection representative becomes required, the relevant contact details will be added to this Privacy Policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, legal requirements, platform requirements, or our data practices.

The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
